The sale on 21 March will feature 200 lots of old drawings from the 16th to the 19th century. Here is a selection of three particularly rare drawings:
A 16th century drawing from the School of Pietro VANNUCCI, known as the PERUGIN
Perugino was undoubtedly the most influential painter of his time. Between 1480 and 1510, he was considered by his contemporaries to be Italy's greatest painter
A magnificent drawing by Victor Hugo
Our drawing probably dates from 1866, when Victor Hugo was working on his large drawings of lighthouses, notably "Le phare des Casquets" (Musée Victor Hugo inv.185), in which the spiral staircase is at the centre of the composition. The latter also came from the Paul Meurice collection, which bequeathed it to the Maison Victor Hugo in 1903.
